Dive Watches

A dive watch has a unidirectional bezel to time a dive, water resistance of at least 200 metres, a screw-down crown and luminous markers that read in the dark. The Rolex Submariner of 1953 set the pattern, and the Sea-Dweller, Omega Seamaster and Planet Ocean, Tudor Black Bay and Pelagos, Breitling Superocean, Panerai Submersible and TAG Heuer Aquaracer all follow it.

Every dive watch we list has been through the same process: our watchmakers authenticate the case, dial, movement and bracelet against the reference, time it in several positions, pressure test it and record exactly what is included. The result is a listing that states the condition grade, polish status, parts originality and service history, so you know what you are buying before you buy it. Dive Watch FAQs

Can I actually dive with a pre-owned dive watch?

Yes, provided it passes a pressure test. Every watch we sell is pressure tested before listing and the result is stated on the listing, and our 1-Year Limited Warranty covers water resistance. We recommend a fresh test after any crown or caseback service.

Why does the bezel only turn one way?

A unidirectional bezel can only shorten the dive time it shows, never lengthen it. If it is knocked, the diver surfaces earlier than planned rather than later, which is the safe failure.

What is a helium escape valve?

A one-way valve that lets helium leave the case during decompression after saturation diving, so the crystal does not pop off. Found on the Sea-Dweller, Seamaster, Planet Ocean and Pelagos, it is irrelevant to recreational diving but part of the heritage.

What warranty comes with a pre-owned dive watch?

Every watch we sell is covered by our 1-Year Limited Warranty on the movement and water resistance from the date of delivery, handled directly by Swiss Watches Dot Com, plus a Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee. The full terms are on our Warranty page.

Can I see a dive watch in person before buying?

Yes. Our showroom is at 3255 Peachtree Rd NE, Suite 3, Atlanta, GA 30305, open Mon–Fri 11 AM–6 PM and Sat 12–5 PM. You can also order online and choose showroom pickup. Plan a visit.
