Why This Watch

The Chronomat relaunched Breitling's mechanical chronographs in 1984 with the Frecce Tricolori, and its rider tabs, which can be swapped to count up or down, are still on the bezel today. The 2020 Chronomat B01 42 brought back the Rouleaux bullet bracelet of the original and pairs it with Breitling's in-house B01 movement. Introduced in 1984, the Chronomat has been made in 42 mm for the current Chronomat B01, 44 mm for the Chronomat 44, with 32 and 36 mm in the current Chronomat Automatic, powered by in-house Breitling B01 chronograph with 70-hour power reserve; Valjoux-based caliber 13 in the Chronomat Evolution.
