The Day-Date spells out the day of the week in full at twelve o'clock and has only ever been made in gold or platinum. The President bracelet introduced with it gave the watch its nickname, and the combination of fluted bezel, semi-circular links and a lacquered or stone dial is one of the most recognisable silhouettes in watchmaking. Introduced in 1956, the Day-Date has been made in 36 mm historically and 40 mm since 2015 (the 41 mm Day-Date II ran 2008 to 2015), powered by calibers 1556 and 3055 in vintage pieces, 3155 in the five- and six-digit era, and the 3255 in the current 228xxx line.
